Put a Heart on It! Flipboard Likes Go Public
Inside Flipboard / July 16, 2015
There’s a new way to bookmark content and share your favorite stories on Flipboard, and it’s as effortless as a heartbeat—literally.
See that little heart on content on Flipboard? Tap on it to easily save the item into your Likes, a new area on your profile. Anytime you want to quickly see what you’ve saved recently, go here.
By tapping the heart, you’ll also be telling the curator—and the world—that the story is something you enjoyed. The curator will get your vote of approval in his or her notifications, but also, now that Likes are visible to everyone, it’s another way to showcase your interests on Flipboard.
Anyone can see your Likes on your profile, and you can do the same by visiting others’ pages (coming soon to Flipboard for the Web).
Take this opportunity to make sure your profile looks good! That means uploading a photo or avatar and writing a solid description about who you are and what you’re all about. The more complete your profile is, the easier it is for people to find you through Flipboard search. In fact, a decent percentage of a person’s “Follows” come through search, so good profile metadata only helps you get discovered on Flipboard. You can also grow your readership by sharing your profile on social networks, SMS or email, and asking people to follow you.
So go forth and spread the “like” today!
