#FlipTip: Commemorate the School Year with a Magazine

In the U.S., June marks graduation season where many teachers will be giving final exams and saying goodbye to senior students. Flipboard magazines can be a thoughtful way to remember the past year.
- Create a digital yearbook for your class, club, sport team or special program
- Honor a peer, administrator or award recipient
- Highlights from the year’s field trips
- Collect articles around key discussions you had in class
- A thank you magazine for a fellow teacher or department who helped you out
- Show off activities in class in a magazine for parents
- Compile the best portfolio work of the year
- A chronology of the people and places that defined your school year
To get started, you need to make a magazine. Decide if you want it to be public or private and if you want to invite any contributors. You can read the benefits of private group magazines on the MagMaker blog.
Here are ways you can fill out your new magazine:
Include photos from your own device by sharing from your Photos App on iOS or Android gallery. Select the photo you would like to flip and share it to Flipboard.
Another way to collect photos as well as memorable social posts is to connect your social media accounts to Flipboard. For example, you can choose to follow certain Twitter streams, saved hashtag searches and lists to flip tweets into your magazine and keep up during end-of-year festivities.
Select from a combination of networks that works for you: Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Tumblr, SoundCloud, Facebook, Google+, Flickr, 500px, Sina Weibo, Renren, and YouTube.
Flip your favorite SoundCloud links to add a musical element to your memories or compile a shareable playlist for your class.
